Luxor

Luxor là thành phố ở phía trung-đông của Ai Cập, ở Qinā Governorate, bên sông Nin, gần với Al Karnak. Luxor có dân số theo điều tra năm 1999 là 376.022 người và diện tích là 416 km². Thành phố này nằm ở khu vực sản xuất nông nghiệp với các nông sản ngũ cốc, mía đường, chà là. Thành phố Luxor là nơi có các địa điểm khảo cổ, là nơi thu hút du khách tham quan. Luxor có Sân bay quốc tế Luxor. Luxor nằm ở nửa phía nam của Thebes cổ và có các phế tích của một ngôi đền lớn được xây vào khoảng năm 1400 trước Công nguyên, trong thời kỳ Tân vương quốc.

An incredible work of art, the Luxor Temple also incorporates a church on its western side along with 3 ornate shrines in the courtyard.

Your journey to Luxor would seem incomplete if you do not spare some time to visit the Colossi of Memnon (King of Ethiopia and a hero of the Trojan Ware) and Amenhotep’s memorial temple. They’re extremely popular among foreign vacationers. Also, in Luxor there’s a Mummification Museum. Located on a cornice just north of the Luxor Temple, overlooking the Nile, it’s a must if you want to somehow understand the ancient art of mummification.
